Keep essential information available offline
Download tickets, maps and the addresses you need. Check that the files open while the device has no connection. Keep a separate copy of critical booking details in a place you can reach if a phone is lost or runs out of power.
Pack fewer dependable accessories
A familiar charger, a sound cable and an adapter suitable for the destination are often enough. Inspect cables for damage before packing. Label similar adapters so that you do not have to guess their purpose later.
Plan for recovery
Make a current backup and know how to contact your carrier or device maker. Use a screen lock and keep account recovery information separate from the device. After returning, remove offline material you no longer need and file the records you want to keep.
